As one of China¡¯s most famous and popular tourist sites, the Terracotta warriors (bingmayong) are among the top archaeological excavations of the 20th Century. The warriors are over 2000 years old and were originally constructed to protect the tomb of the Emperor Qin Shi Huang.

The Springs were a popular retreat with Emperors more than 2500 years ago, many of whom enjoyed bathing in the perfectly clear mineral water. Legend has it that the pools were fully established here in the Qing dynasty. The most romantic story that accompanies the history of the springs is that of the Chinese equivalent of Romeo and Juliet; the story of the Emperor Xuan Zong and his concubine Yang Guifei

Dumpling, or Jiaozi in Chinese, is one of the most representative Chinese food. The food, dated back several thousands of years, is quite popular in China, and also favored by most of foreign tourists. The whole banquet generally last one or one-and-half hours, while some 12 kinds of dumplings will be served until your stomach is full. The restaurant the banquet happens is called as Defachang, an old local restaurant located near to the Bell Tower. The Chinese-style restaurant is always full because of its fame. What is more, you also can enjoy traditional Chinese music when enjoying your dumpling!

10:00-12:00 Visit the Shaanxi History Museum
The exhibition can be divided into seven sections which emphatically reveal the prosperity of the Prehistoric Age; the Zhou; Qin; Han; Wei; Jin; North and South, Sui, Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming, Qing Dynasties. The exhibition vividly depicts Shaanxi History, range from 1150000 years ago up to the year 1840. Eleven dynasties established their capitals in Shaanxi Province. In a way, the ancient history of Shaanxi is a highly condensed version of Chinese history.

13:00-14:00 Visit Big Wild Goose Pagoda
The Big Wild Goose Pagoda was sponsored and named by the famous master Xuan Zang (Monk Tripitaka) in 652 A.D.. Xuan Zang was both a great translator and traveler of Tang Dynasty. At the age of 28 in 627 A.D., he went alone ot India to study Buddhist Scriptures, 17 years later he returned to Chang¡¯an with 657 volumes of Buddhist Scriptures, He received a ceremony of unprecedented grandeur for him when he moved into the temple to translate the Buddhist Scripture. In 652 A.D. Xuan Zang made a proposal to the court for a pagoda to store the scriptures and statues he had brought back from India. Then the world famous Big Wild Goose Pagoda was finished in 652 A.D.

Near the Big Wild Goose Pagoda , Tang Paradise is located in the Qujiang Resort, southeast of the Xian City, Shaanxi Province. It is a newly opened tourist attraction in April, 2005. Tang Paradise covers a total area of 1000 m2 (about 165 acres) and of which 300 m2 (about 49 acres) is water. This tourist attraction not only claims to be the biggest cultural theme park in the northwest region of China but also the first royal-garden-like park to give a full display of the Tang Dynasty's (618-907) culture.Altogether, twelve scenic regions are distributed throughout Tang Paradise to provide visitors with the enjoyment of twelve cultural themes and a perfect exhibition of the grandness, prosperity and brilliance of the culture of the Tang Dynasty.

10:00-11:00 Visit Xi¡¯an Citywall
The preserved city walls of Xi'an were built in 1374 A.D. on the basis of the city of Chang'an in the Tang Dynasty. They are 11.9 kilometers in girth with the top widths of 12 to 14 meters. It is the best-preserved ancient city wall in China and also one of the most well-known late-medieval city constructions in the world. They are built of grey bricks and kept intact. The gate tower built over each of the four city gates and painted in dark green, which look lofty and magnificent and form a tight defense engineering system

  1. The above tours are operated in English. English speaking local tour guide will be provided. Tour booking deadline: Oct 14, 2006. The above tour cost does not inclusive of visa to China / gratuity, personal expediture, etc.
  2. A written notification of cancellation is required in case of cancellation after booking is confirmed, and penalty will apply base on the following condition:
  • 5 working days prior to departure: 15% of the tour price.
  • within 2 working days prior to departure: 50% of the tour price.
  • 1 working day prior to departure: no refund will be made.
